Initially when I began this Substack I thought I could write an essay on an album or a song per week. However, as my other work increased this became impossible.
I also happened to start a new Substack – A Bridge Adjusting To The Water – which has focused on political philosophy and foreign affairs – more directly related to my day job.
However, recently I’ve started to be concerned about being typecast with this day job. I work in foreign policy, but I bristle at the often narrow nature of the field. To me, everything is of critical importance to building secure, flourishing societies – including culture.
So through that lens the idea of separating my writing between two different Substacks made no sense. My music writing had to sit alongside my other writing.
Therefore, I decided to move a few of my best articles across to A Bridge Adjusting To The Water from Lunch Hour Pops, and any further articles of this nature will now appear solely over there.
On that Substack I try to write a weekly newsletter which follows my movements during the week or events I wish to comment on, as well as occasional longer-form writing on a variety of subjects.
If you wish to subscribe, that would be great. If not, thanks for reading.
